Therapist

LeNair Sparks is a Therapist at The Refuge Center holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. She is a member of the Tennessee Licensed Professional Counselors Association, the American Counselors Association, and Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society. She is pursuing full licensure and holds a LPC/MHSP (T) license currently.
LeNair is motivated by the desire to help people experience the joy of being in their own skin and experience peace in their environment, their relationships, and their lives. Her ideal client will be those who are wanting growth and healing for relationship distress, depression, anxiety, trauma experiences, family discord, distressing life transitions, spirituality, multigenerational trauma, grief, and loss – those who are looking for a new direction for their lives and relationships. She also provides premarital counseling.
LeNair strongly believes that our bodies are uniquely created for self-healing. Therefore, she employs a strong narrative therapy-driven, person-centered approach that includes cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, IFS/Parts work, EMDR (eye movement, desensitization and reprocessing), and brainspotting. LeNair is also a facilitator of Prepare and Enrich for premarital counseling. She believes strongly in a collaborative approach that places the client as the expert on themselves – and she as a compassionate witness. Upon request, LeNair is happy to incorporate the client’s spirituality to include a faith-based approach to their healing process.
