The Refuge Center for Counseling was founded on the belief that everyone, regardless of income level, deserves a chance to improve their life and find hope and healing from the storms of their daily lives through counseling.
The Average Cost of Counseling
The average fee per counseling session in the 2024-2025 fiscal year was $68. Currently, it costs the center $117 to give a counseling session. That means The Refuge Center must raise $49 to cover every session on our sliding scale, of which 86% of our clients utilize. To accomplish this, we are supported by generous grants, churches, corporations and private donors. We are also a United Way of Greater Nashville partner agency. Your gifts are always appreciated and will go towards offering hope, healing, freedom, and connection to over 4200 clients a year.

Events
The Refuge Center for Counseling also hosts community events as a tool to support our fundraising efforts and as a way to educate the public on mental health issues.

With each $50 given, an opportunity for Hope is given. A family stays together, a teenager chooses life, and someone discovers their trauma doesn’t define them.

Legacy Giving
Do you want to leave a meaningful legacy that will continue to impact future generations? Legacy gifts to the Refuge Center for Counseling allow us to continue to offer affordable, professional counseling services in order to empower, educate and support individuals, couples and families in need. Since opening in 2005, over 360,000 counseling sessions have been held and in the last fiscal year over 4,200 clients have come through our doors and attended more than 41,000 sessions (adding up to 26 sessions per client on average.) That is a LOT of transformation happening in Middle Tennessee…and guess what? Those are your neighbors, your friends, co-workers, maybe even your family. When you give, you get to experience and benefit from the healing in your own community!
