Simone Maia is a Therapist at The Refuge Center,, where she strives to create a safe and supportive space for healing and growth. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Capella University, building on a strong foundation from her bachelor’s degree in Psychology earned at the University of South Africa.
Guided by Nelson Mandela’s wisdom that “The greatest glory in living, lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall,”, she is deeply committed to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges with resilience and hope. Whether supporting clients through anxiety, major life transitions, or the complexities of grief and loss, she brings empathy, insight, and a collaborative spirit to her work.
She is also a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the Delta Kappa International Marriage and Family Therapy Honor Society, she approaches her practice with professionalism, integrity, and a heartfelt belief in the power of human connection and healing.
