Master’s Level Intern

Thomas Masters is a Master’s Level Intern studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Trevecca Nazarene University. He is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Tennessee Licensed Professional Counselors Association. Thomas first desired to help others as a therapist after reading Pastor Rick Warren’s quote “Your most effective ministry will come out of your deepest hurts.” With this personal experience, he seeks to help others have renewed thoughts by pressing into the discomfort of sitting with all our emotions, in order to grow and thrive.

Thomas seeks to be a helpful part in the journey of people across the lifespan dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, low self- worth, and attachment issues, with a focus on teens and young adults as they seek to navigate life’s new challenges. He uses an integrative approach to look at a person’s whole picture, learning how all aspects of one’s life are interconnected and come together to shape one’s perceptions and experiences. Transitioning from a career in accounting where work can feel like a complex puzzle, Thomas aims to assist people in understanding the intricate connections between their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors and the significance of their narrative past and how their existence in the present can create a meaningful future.
