Sahel Gingerich, MMFT is a Contract Therapist at Refuge and holds a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy from Lipscomb University and a Master of Theological Studies from Vanderbilt University. She earned her Bachlor of English from Lipscomb University. Sahel is also a member of American Association of Christian Counseling and is currently pursuing a certification in Biblical Counseling. Originally from Iran, Sahel spent several years in Germany before joining her family in the United States. Her personal journey has given her a profound understanding of life’s sudden changes, the importance of perseverance, and the value of a strong support system. Living in Nashville, Sahel has been mentoring immigrant families, helping them adapt and thrive in a new culture.

Sahel’s therapeutic approach is rooted in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions. She believes that lasting emotional well-being is achievable when the therapist and client collaborate to gain insights, develop effective strategies, and work toward shared goals. Sahel integrates various therapeutic modalities, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to tailor her approach to each client’s unique needs.
