Contract Therapist

Lindrel Moates is a Contract Therapist at The Refuge Center. She holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). Lindrel also completed the Masters Level Intern Program at the Refuge after working within a biblical counseling ministry. In her early career, she honed active listening and communication skills while helping corporate clients creatively connect and share their stories.

Within her therapeutic space, Lindrel fosters safe and compassionate relationships. She believes life hardships and tragedy can lead us to new places of resiliency, restoration, and wholeness. Utilizing person-centered and cognitive behavioral therapies as a framework, she offers an integrated approach to care for clients. Her professional training, life experiences, and creativity uniquely equip her to encourage clients from suffering to joy.

Lindrel is a member of the Chi Sigma Iota International Honor Society, American Counseling Association, American Association of Christian Counselors, and Tennessee Licensed Professional Counselors Association. She completed training in EMDR I and II and other trauma techniques as well as two evidence-based assessments for couples. She has a bachelor’s in Mass Communication with a Psychology minor and is pursuing full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor with the Mental Health Service Provider designation (LPC-MHSP).
