Lexie is a Therapist and temporarily Licensed Professional Counselor–Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP temp) at The Refuge Center. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lipscomb University and is pursuing full licensure under the supervision of Carla Babb and Joy Samuels. Lexie is a member of the Nashville Area of Christian Counselors. She has received Level 1 training in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy through the Gottman Institute and completed the Externship in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy through the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy. Prior to becoming a counselor, Lexie was a public school teacher with Metro Nashville Public Schools.

Lexie is passionate about working with adults and couples. She works with adults healing from childhood developmental and relational trauma who now struggle with toxic shame, low self-esteem, poor boundaries, perfectionism, a persistent sense of never being enough, and difficulty practicing self-compassion. She enjoys working with Christian individuals navigating faith-related struggles—particularly when beliefs about serving others are keeping them in situations or relationships that are no longer life-giving.
Lexie also walks alongside couples who feel emotionally disconnected, distant, or lonely and are wondering how to continue. Her approach is integrative and relational, incorporating values-based work, attachment theory, mindfulness, and the mind-body connection. In her work with couples, Lexie utilizes Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples and the Gottman Method.
