Elia Martin is a Staff Therapist/Intake Specialist & Front Desk Administrative Assistant at Refuge. A former Master’s Level Intern at Refuge, she earned her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University and is pursuing full licensure. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Cal State University Northridge and is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). In addition to being a therapist, she also functions as a part of our Intake Specialist/Front Desk Administrative Assistant Team.

Elia is passionate about working with children, teens and young adults.  She believes there is always hope for complete restoration, wellness and that no one is ever too far lost. Knowing life’s journeys can be a road to recovery, she is confident that day by day steps and through the power of prayer, lives can be changed.

Her focus is to work with those experiencing anxiety, depression, life adjustments, high levels of stress, body image/ self-esteem struggles and more. She believes in creating an encouraging, safe and judgment free space for her clients. Her overall goal for her clients is to walk alongside them to discover healing and growth through thoughtful collaboration and counseling. Her therapeutic approach is tailored to her clients, drawing from evidenced-based therapies and techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, art therapy, experiential therapy and mindfulness.
