Donna Thompson, LPC-MHSP, is a Staff Therapist at The Refuge Center and serves as the Coordinator of Somatic Movement. She is trained in EMDR, CBT, IFS, Narrative Therapy and Somatic Healing. Donna is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200) and is trained in Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TSY). She draws on multiple psychotherapeutic models to create a strengths-based plan unique to each individual.
Donna enjoys working with individuals from various backgrounds needing support with trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and life transitions. She is guided by her desire to be a source of hope, compassion, and encouragement to those in need. She is passionate about walking alongside her clients on their journey to experience growth, healing, and freedom in their lives and relationships. She values creating a safe space where clients feel heard, understood, and valued. Donna holds a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University. Donna is a member of the American Counseling Association.
