Giving Tuesday
Every month more than 2,200 people walk through our doors at The Refuge Center carrying burdens they can barely lift.
At The Refuge Center, people find a safe place to set that weight down. With the help of a compassionate counselor, they begin to unpack what they’ve carried for so long—learning what’s truly theirs to hold, what never was, and what can be transformed from burden into strength.
Because, whatever we’re carrying, none of us were meant to do it alone.
Help us raise $20,000 this Giving Tuesday! For more info on what Giving Tuesday is, visit givingtuesday.org
This year, thanks to a generous donor, we also have a match for $10k, so help us raise the rest…and even more!
Every $50 raised is a session for someone who needs one.
You can give using the link below, but wait until this Tuesday so you can receive two free gifts as a thank you for your support of our cause, clients, and community!
-Each year, 1 in 5 adults experience a mental illness, 1 in 10 experience a mental health crisis.
-Close to half of those people never receive treatment.
-Most wait an average of 11 years from their first symptoms to get help.
The crisis is real. And it’s in our community. But freedom is possible. You hold the key.
As a token our gratitude in supporting Refuge, after you give you will receive two gifts in return through your donor acknowledgement email.
1. A guided meditation centered around letting go of the weight of invisible burdens, from Staff Therapist, Kimberly Kooy!
2. A 12-day digital journal entitled “The Weight We Carry.”
Additionally, check out our Instagram and Facebook for special wallpapers with inspiring quotes on releasing the hold of the baggage we carry.
Please use these gifts this Christmas Season and beyond to help relinquish the hold your invisible burdens may have on you and #travellight.
