Staff Therapist / Coordinator of Collaborative Partnerships

Justin Williams, LCSW, is a Staff Therapist and Coordinator of Collaborative Partnerships at Refuge. He has a master’s from the University of Tennessee’s College of Social Work and prior to joining The Refuge Center as a therapist, Justin spent multiple years as an individual and group therapist at a residential treatment center among women seeking recovery from myriad forms of trauma and mental health challenges.

With a decade of experience in the field of holistic healing across a broad spectrum of care—ranging from community-based nonprofits engaging issues of addiction recovery, social marginalization, and spiritual wounding to an inpatient hospital setting focused on co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges—Justin has a passion for partnering with both women and men in the pursuit of authentic living and he emphasizes an empowering belief in human value and resiliency through a client-centered and strengths-based approach.

Justin has had training in EMDR (Levels I and II), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Motivational Interviewing and seeks to prioritize the relational components of wounding and healing.
