Contract Therapist

Anni Gooder (MMFT) is a contract therapist at the Refuge Center. Anni received her Masters at Lipscomb University and is currently pursuing full licensure. Anni is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and has completed Level 1 and Level 2 training in the Gottman Method.

Anni approaches therapy with an understanding that each person is doing the best they can with the resources they have. With a nonjudgmental presence, she desires to infuse her clients with hope as they discover solutions together. She values a collaborative connection with her clients, believing that they bring beneficial information about themselves and their history. Through this process of healing, her goal is to empower her clients to take ownership over the problems they face.

Anni uses a systemic and solution-focused approach in the therapy room to help couples, individuals, and families grasp the changes they desire. Some of her areas of focus include relationship issues, anxiety, life transitions, issues with self-esteem, depression, and sexual trauma.
