Non-invasive Neurofeedback is a new therapy option for clients.
The Refuge Center for Counseling will now be offering Neurofeedback therapy services. Neurofeedback, or EEG biofeedback, is a non-invasive technique that helps the client’s brain to train to self-regulate and increase optimal functioning.
Neurofeedback is an innovative technology which harnesses the brain’s neuroplasticity – its ability to change itself – in order to bring about improvement in a variety of symptoms which can interfere with life satisfaction. This non-medicine approach trains the brain to function optimally, thus improving attention, mood, learning ability and more. Neurofeedback has been used with emotional issues, ADHD, and people who have experienced trauma. Neurofeedback has also be used in the role of performance enhancement and improving executive functioning.
In accordance with the mission statement of The Refuge Center to empower, educate and support individuals, couples and families in need, Neurofeedback sessions are offered on a sliding fee scale based on household income.
