REFUGE CENTER CELEBRATES SEVENTH ANNIVERSARY
WITH NEW LOCATION, EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The Refuge Center for Counseling, a local nonprofit organization
that offers affordable counseling services to those in need, is celebrating its seventh
anniversary this year with an open house at its new location and its inaugural educational
conference.

“When we first opened the doors to the Refuge Center in 2005, I could only imagine
what was in store for the organization,” said Co-founder and Executive Director of The
Refuge Center Amy Alexander. “Seven years later, my greatest dreams have become
realities. I’m so pleased with the positive growth of The Refuge Center, which has
resulted in a new location and the introduction of an educational conference, among
many other things.”

Located at 103 Forrest Crossing Blvd., Suite 102, The Refuge Center’s new offices
offer more space and amenities for the growing number of clients it serves in the Middle
Tennessee area. The public is invited to attend an open house at the new location on
Tues., Sept. 18, from 4 to 6 p.m.

To mark its seventh anniversary, The Refuge Center will also hold it’s inaugural
educational conference—“Communication conundrum: Finding your way when things
get lost in translation”—on Sept. 28. Featuring keynote speaker Dr. Ted Klontz, the
conference is designed to help attendees explore barriers to communication and identify
ways they can remove them, whether it be at work or at home.

Klontz, a renowned psychologist, is a noted pioneer in the development and application
of unique tools and techniques that help people change troublesome behaviors. His two
most recent projects include the completion of his sixth book, Mind Over Money and his
appearances on The Judd’s OWN TV show.

“Dr. Klontz is such a dynamic speaker and a generous supporter of The Refuge Center,”
Alexander said. “I hope many people will be able to join us to hear him speak and to
support the programs, services and clients of The Refuge Center.”
