Valéria Hyer is a Master’s Level Intern studying Marriage and Family Therapy at Lipscomb University, and has a BA in English from Middle Tennessee State University. She is also a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT). She believes that our lives are intricate pieces of a story worthy of redemption and love.
Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Valéria served the immigrant community in Nashville, where she taught English and worked as a healthcare advocate. Her work with this population taught her that joy is possible in the midst of the most traumatic events and that human resilience is a gift.
She has found that healthy human connection and attachment can bring much healing to a broken heart. By seeking internal reconciliation, one can reconcile with the external world and personal relationships. Valéria incorporates Internal Family Systems, somatic interventions, and mindfulness to her practice. She also seeks to build secure attachment through deep bonding and connection.
