Lauren Browning is a counselor at The Refuge Center, and she is working toward becoming licensed as an LPC-MHSP. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Sociology/Social Work and a Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychology with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Tennessee Technological University.
Lauren has a passion for serving teens, young adults, and the next generation as a whole. She highly values connection with others in her life, and that value carries over into her counseling as she desires to create a safe, welcoming space for clients to show up as they are without fear of judgment. Lauren utilizes authenticity, compassion, and a little bit of humor to build trusting relationships that create space for clients to process and explore what they need from counseling. She enjoys collaborating with her clients, empowering them to discover the best ways to achieve their goals and find hope in challenging situations.
Lauren uses an integrative approach to counseling, knowing that every person is unique and benefits from counseling in different modalities. She uses a variety of frameworks and techniques that are best suited to each client as they navigate awareness, growth, and healing.
