Emily Neilson, LPC-MHSP serves as a Therapist at The Refuge Center. She obtained her Master’s degree in counseling from The University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
Emily takes an integrative approach to counseling: often pulling from Person-Centered, Psychodynamic and Somatic therapies with a particular interest in the body-mind connection. She is passionate about working with adult individuals coming with issues surrounding trauma and anxiety and enjoys helping couples work through difficulties in their relationships. Emily is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), has completed Gottman Level 1 and training in Experiential Therapy. Emily is a member of The American Counseling Association.
