Derek Evans

Derek Evans is a part of the Post Masters Volunteer Fellowship Program and a graduate of the Intern Program at The Refuge Center. He studied Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. He is a member of the American Counseling Association, the American Association of Christian Counselors and the Tennessee Counseling Association. He graduated from Anderson University (IN) with his BA in Mass Communication.

Derek has over 15 years working with adults and brings a diverse variety of professional and life experience. Derek has a passion for people. He offers unique insight to those who are walking through trauma, grief, life transitions, spiritual matters, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, and suffering. Derek also has a passion for leaders in the professional setting.
Derek enjoys helping individuals find hope and healing. His passion is to assist people as they walk through life in order to find a sense of peace and hope. He draws from various theories and techniques including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. Upon request, Derek integrates spirituality for those desiring a Christian faith integration approach.
