Dawn Macchiavello, M.Ed., MMFT

Dawn Macchiavello has a graduate degree in education and a graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.  She is a certified Chaplain and is studying Spiritual Direction at Lipscomb University.  Prior to coming to The Refuge Center, Dawn relocated to Tennessee from Southern California and has a lot of compassion for people who are new to the area and are trying to adjust to their new surroundings while seeking community and belonging.

Dawn is passionate about coming alongside clients as they grow, heal and learn what is getting in the way of living life as their true self.  She has a holistic and client-centered approach.  Dawn integrates Family Systems Theory, Attachment Theory, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Somatic Therapies.  She has additional training in Narrative Story Work. 

Dawn enjoys working with teens and adults with a clinical focus of grief and loss, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, and attachment trauma.  She also integrates spirituality for anyone desiring a faith-based approach.
