Connie Tomlin, LPC-MHSP, NCC

Connie Tomlin is a contract therapist with the Refuge Center. She is a Nashville native who obtained her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Trevecca Nazarene University, and she is currently pursuing her doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-MHSP) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). Connie is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Tennessee Licensed Professional Counselor Association.

Connie is a client-centered therapist who values the therapeutic relationship above all else. She works from a constructivist perspective, acknowledging that all former life experiences create the person we are today. Connie will help you to feel fully seen, heard, and accepted exactly as you are, and she will create a safe, non-judgmental space for you to share your story: your insecurities, fears, anxiety, grief, concerns about the future, and your experiences from your past. Connie sees all of her clients as unique individuals with their own special strengths, talents, and gifts, and she will help you to develop these gifts so you can be the best version of yourself.

Self-esteem issues, stress and anxiety, lack of motivation, depression, grief and loss, body image issues, trauma, lack of purpose and meaning, and adjustment issues are some of the many client concerns that Connie has seen in her clinical work. In addition to working with adults of all ages, she has extensive experience working with people with dementia, caregivers, veterans, and healthcare workers. Connie uses a variety of treatment modalities including strengths-based therapy, mindfulness, positive psychology, and trauma-informed therapy.
