Contract Therapist

Christy Hunt is a counselor at The Refuge Center and completed her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Trevecca Nazarene University. She has completed training in clinical trauma competency and EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing). Christy views most mental health concerns through a trauma-focused psychodynamic lens. She integrates various psychotherapeutic models based on each individual’s needs. Some of these models include IFS parts work, Inner Child, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Narrative Exposure, Cognitive, and Emotion Regulation therapies. Christy desires to guide hurting people toward an understanding that who they are matters, that their experiences do not define them, and that there is always hope for healing and growth. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Tennessee Licensed Professional Counselors Association.

Christy desires to be a source of hope and encouragement for people in need. She believes that every human being deserves unconditional kindness and that every person has the resources within themselves to reach their full potential.
