Cara Allison is a Master’s Level Intern at The Refuge Center pursuing her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lipscomb University. She earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Belmont University.
Cara aims to gently guide clients through exploration to discover their most authentic selves. She is passionate about walking alongside people as they find freedom and peace with who they were meant to be. She holds full confidence that all clients are capable of healing and growth when they are given space to be seen, heard, and fully accepted.
Cara developed a passion for working with children and teens during her undergraduate internships as well as her years teaching youth ballet. She has taken courses and participated in workshops and trainings centered around play therapy and expressive arts. She is interested in incorporating art and movement into the healing process with clients of all ages.
Cara values the uniqueness of each individual and is grateful for any opportunity to work with people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and sexual and gender identities.
