Anxiety does not have to have a strangle-hold on your life

Occasional bouts of anxiety are natural and can even be productive since they help us navigate an uncertain world. However, when anxiety becomes persistent, pervasive, or excessive, it can disrupt daily life and lead to an anxiety disorder. Nearly one-third of adults in the U.S. will experience overwhelming anxiety at some point in their lives. Anxiety often goes hand in hand with depression and can be influenced by biology, early trauma, and parenting practices. It’s important to note that eliminating anxiety entirely is neither possible nor desirable, as it serves a crucial role in keeping us alert and safe. Instead, the goal is to manage anxiety effectively. This can be achieved through therapy, medication, lifestyle changes like exercise and deep breathing, or a combination of these approaches.

Let us help you on your journey.

At Refuge, we see those who struggle with anxiety every single day, and while it can feel all-consuming, it does not have to have a strangle-hold on your life. Our therapists are trained, equipped, and happy to help you on your journey towards healing and freedom.
