David is a native of Nashville. He attended Battle Ground Academy before graduating from Hillsboro High School. While attending the University of Memphis in 1967, David met and married his wife Diane and they have three children and 8 grandchildren. David is Elder-Emeritus at Christ Community Church in Franklin.
After spending nearly 30 years in the apparel industry, David began a new career in the non-profit sector. David worked in fundraising for World Harvest Mission before becoming Executive Director of Esperanza Health Center in Philadelphia where the Philadelphia Enquirer named him as one of the Top Ten Non-Profit Executives.
David returned to Nashville in 2004 and started The Macedonia Group – a fundraising and Estate Planning consulting firm. In 2008, he became the CEO at Mercy Community Healthcare in Franklin until his retirement in 2015. Currently David works part-time for Adoration Hospice as a chaplain and Executive Director of The Adoration Foundation.
